Warthogs have 34 teeth at a young age, but most of them fall out when they reach maturity. Adult specimens, apart from the large canines, have only two pairs of upper incisors and large molars.
Warthog tusks get sharpened by rubbing on each other when closing their mouths.
The warthog can survive without water for several months during the dry season!
Warthogs often kneel down to graze on the low-hanging shrubs. They have special padding on the knees to protect them when kneeling.
They sleep underground at night in burrows which they usually take from other animals.
